We hope you have had a great break and were able to spend (or in some lucky cases still are having) some time with your family and friends.
We had a great time during Vacation Care with lots of arts and crafts, outdoor activities, cooking, experiments, puzzles, music, hanging with friends and swimming.
For those parents who receive their account via email, you should have received it by Friday 23rd January for Term 1. Paper accounts are in the folders on the signing in/out desk. Payments are due Fridays 5th February and 5th March. Please let us know of any changes as soon as possible. This will enable those families on the waiting list to have a position.
Could you please fill out Extra Activity Permission Slips for all activities that involve your child/ren leaving the centre eg: band, netball, dance or chess. Whilst we try to send children to these activities on time it is their responsibility to remember to go.
In line with current government guidelines we have introduced an Absentee Note. Please fill one out beforehand if you know your child/ren will be absent or upon their return.
We will again set aside time and a quiet space to encourage children to do their homework. Please look for the list on the sign out table in Week 2, to start homework in Week 3.
I would like to say a huge thank you to those families who volunteered to help maintain the backyard. This was a great success and we would like to continue it again this year. It is very easy. Just come sometime over the weekend you are roster on for, mow or do other odd bits of gardening as required.
Swimming for Years 3-6 will be available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from Tuesday 9th February,. Please make sure you have returned a permission slip and payment ASAP so we will know for staffing arrangements. We will be running our Active After School Communities program this term, with dance on Mondays and Ultimate Frisbee on Wednesdays. These activities are run at no extra cost as it is supported by The Australian Sports Commission and the activities are loads of fun, open to all ages. Please sign up your child now.
DATE FOR THE DIARY: Annual General Meeting, Wednesday 17th March from 6.30pm.
Could you please read and provide comments on The Centre Philosophy and Aims and return it by Friday 12th February.
If you have any ideas or comments please don’t hesitate to talk to us,
Linda and Kim
Also, please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help maintain the backyard in 2010. This newsletter is available for download here. |
